At y inquiry, he answered, "Because the students you have gotten to know have to leave."
As years went by, y previous confusion about y colleague's words no longer existed. When I cae across naughty students, I have had to rethink why I chose to be a teacher. It obviously isn't the oney.Once a forer coputer science student of ine called e, asking e if I wanted to have a change. He was working at Nintendo Corporation. His salary was higher than y current one, though I have ore education and have worked for over a decade. With y prograing skills, he said he could get e hired.I thanked hi, but declined his kind offer.
A few days before this current graduation, while working on final grades, I found a note a student had slipped in with her hoework. She thanked e for being her teacher and said the things she had learned in y class—not about ath, but about life—would be things she would reeber long after the ath skills had faded away.As I finished reading, I reebered why I had becoe a teacher.

An idea that started in Seattle's public library has spread throughout Aerica and beyond. The concept is siple: help to build a sense of counity in a city by getting everyone to read the sae book at the sae tie.
In addition to encouraging reading as a pursuit(追求) to be enjoyed by all, the progra allows strangers to counicate by discussing the book on the bus, as well as prooting reading as an experience to be shared in failies and schools. The idea cae fro Seattle librarian Nancy Pearl who launched(发起) the "If All of Seattle Read the Sae Book " project in 1998. Her original progra used author visits, study guides and book discussion groups to bring people together with a book, but the idea has since expanded to any other Aerican cities, and even to Hong Kong.
In Chicago, the ayor(市长) appeared on television to announce the choice of To Kill a ockingbird as the first book in the "One Book, One Chicago" progra. As a result, reading clubs and neighborhood groups sprang up around the city. Across the US, stories eerged of parents and children reading to each other at night and strangers chatting away on the bus about plot and character.
The only proble arose in New York, where local readers could not decide on one book to represent the huge and diverse population. This ay show that the idea works best in ediu-sized cities or large towns, where a greater sense of unity can be achieved. Or it ay show that New Yorkers rather issed the point, putting all their energy and passion into the choice of the book rather than discussion about a book itself.
Ultiately, as Nancy points out, the level of success is not easured by how any people read a book, but by how any people are enriched by the process, or have enjoyed speaking to soeone with who they would not otherwise have shared a word.

Are Training Classes or Tutors Necessary ?
Nowadays, ore and ore students attend different kinds of training classes or hire tutors to iprove their grades at the weekends.
Soe think it necessary to do so. Firstly, it’s ore effective to study with a teacher’s help than by theselves. Secondly, you can have ore chances to counicate with teachers (there are ore interaction between students and teachers.) . Besides, you can ake up for what you iss or fail to understand in classes on weekdays.
Others think it unnecessary. For one thing, students can easily for the habit of dependence. For another, students need tie for rest and recreation at weekends. What’s worse, attending training classes or hiring tutors even causes soe students not to listen attentively in their regular classes.
In y opinion, whether a training class or tutor is needed just depends. If you are really very weak at or interested in a certain subject, aybe it’s OK for you. But be sure to choose a good and suitable class or teacher, otherwise it would be a waste of tie and oney.
